Terrorist Attack at Club Q

I’ve waited to write about the Club Q shooting because I didn’t want to be hyper-reactive. I am frustrated by victimhood, and that is callous on my part. I live in Colorado Springs; it is the most heavily armed city in the state. Why was the terrorist the only person with a gun in that club? It is not illegal to carry a gun into a bar in Colorado as long as you aren’t intoxicated. I’m certain there were designated drivers in that bar that night. Why weren’t they armed? Does the club have a policy that denies weapons into the facility? If so, how’d that work out???? The news coverage is highlighting how the heroes that stopped the terrorist attack were unarmed. Why?

Why is it so hard for people to understand that it’s a lot easier to stop an evil person doing evil things if you are better armed and prepared than him? I went on one combat patrol in Iraq without a weapon, it was my first, the day after I arrived and was being transported from the airbase to my unit’s Forward Operating Base, and the small group of us replacements would receive our weapons once we arrived at the FOB. It was terrifying. A year later, back here in America, somebody tried to carjack me on a dark street in the middle of the night in downtown Colorado Springs, and I didn’t have a gun. I pointed my index finger at him in the shadows and he thought I had a gun, yelled, “Oh Shit!” and ran off back down the alley. That was the last day I was ever unarmed in America.

Pacifism does not stop evil. In fact, pacifism encourages evil. Appeasement, surrender, cowardice or just plain weakness, ENCOURAGES evil men to victimize innocent people. I am giving away free self-defense training this winter to anybody who wants to learn how to effectively and (unlike the heroes of Club Q) easily end a mass shooting by ending the mass shooter…so far 1 person has taken me up on it. I read an article yesterday that said the number of adults who carry guns in America doubled from 2015 to 2019 from 3 million to 6 million (based on a statistical estimate). The article was funded by anti-gun groups and was highly concerned by the fact. So am I….ONLY 6 MILLION PEOPLE ARE CARRYING GUNS ON A DAILY BASIS IN THIS COUNTRY?! That’s only 1.8 percent. That’s not enough to stop this scourge of evil lunatics shooting up public places. Weakness breeds victimhood. I don’t care what your religious leaders have told you, the meek have inherited NOTHING in this world but victimhood--a great deal of it perpetrated by the same religious leaders. Evil people are not deterred by your faith, they are not impressed by your non-violence; the lions in the arena were perfectly satisfied with the flavor of godly pacifists.

You cannot prevent evil. You have to fight and defeat evil. You cannot defeat evil if you are weaker than it. Weakness and pacifism are not virtues of winners, they are the virtues of victims. How many more mass shootings have to happen before people wake up and realize the truth: guns are the solution to mass shootings, not the cause of them. Evil people are the cause of mass shootings, not their weapons, and so the solution to mass shooters is to fight back against the evil people, not their tools. And it is far easier to do that when you are at least as well-armed as the terrorist. The first rule of unarmed combat is this: DON’T GET INTO IT! If somebody starts shooting into a crowd of innocent people, the best (meaning quickest and easiest) way to stop him is to put a bullet in his brain. I have tremendous respect for the bravery of the people who took down the terrorist at Club Q with their bare hands, but it would have been a lot easier to do (and would have perhaps saved some victims by ending it quicker) if they had just shot the psycho as soon as he opened fire on innocent people.

You cannot negotiate or legislate evil away, you cannot appease it, you cannot defeat it with pacifism. Evil people use force to hurt innocent people, and they only understand force. If you want to be safe, if you want your family to be safe, if you want your society to be safe, then you have got to get more dangerous than the evil lunatics slaughtering innocent people in this country. Be armed. Be ready. Be more dangerous than evil people.
